The internationally active company headquartered in Perlen, Switzerland, took the opportunity of a customer survey to do good for the environment.
After conducting a customer survey, Perlen Packaging, in collaboration with Planet Tree, a family-owned and start-up company based in Hanau, Germany, planted 500 seedlings in the German state of Hesse last week. The oaks planted have great adaptive potential and can recover quickly even after periods of drought. This means they are well prepared for climate change and can thus strengthen the local forest.
"The annual customer survey with the incentive of donating a tree for each participant was very well received by our customers, which was reflected in a high response rate," says a pleased Lars Kirchhoff, Chief Sales Officer at Perlen Packaging. "Thus, every completed questionnaire was able to contribute a small part to CO₂ compensation and climate protection."
Planet Tree pursues the goal of sustainable, long-term reforestation with the planted areas. Accordingly, the trees serve as CO₂ compensation over several generations and are not intended for cultivation or recycling. Photos of the plantings are published regularly to document the growth of the trees. Planet Tree cooperates with the state forests of Hesse and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
